From the Principal

Foreword

It has been another inspiring and eventful week at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, filled with moments of pride, opportunity, and connection across both campuses.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of our 2026 School Captains and Vice Captains.

Our School Captains for the coming year are Nicolas Leotta and Phoebe Robins, and our School Vice Captains are Byron Millar and Kimiyo Tango.

These students have been elected by Senior School students and staff following a written application, expression of support, leadership speeches and a voting process that concluded last Friday. We are confident that the elected leaders will reflect the outstanding leadership qualities, commitment to our school community, and ability to model the values we hold dear at Lindisfarne. As is the tradition at Lindisfarne, they will lead with compassion, wisdom and respect as they serve both the student body and the wider school community.

Please join me in congratulating Nicolas, Phoebe, Byron, and Kimiyo as they step into these important roles.

We had the extraordinary privilege this week of welcoming a visiting film production team from Apple, who travelled from the United States to profile Lindisfarne as part of an Apple Education Global Story.

Over four days, the Apple team captured footage across classrooms and programs at our Mahers Lane Campus, highlighting our innovative ConnectEd technology program and our broader approach to future-focused learning.

It is incredibly rare for a school to be chosen for such an honour, and we are proud to be recognised on a global stage for our commitment to meaningful, creative, and student-led use of technology. I thank our staff, students, and families for warmly welcoming the team and for representing Lindisfarne with pride.

Thank you to all families who attended this week’s Parent Teacher Interviews for Stage 4 and 5 students. These evenings provide valuable opportunities for collaboration and reflection as we work together to support each student’s learning journey.

On Thursday afternoon, I had the great privilege of attending the Year 10 PDHPE Rock ’n’ Roll performances in Ngahriyah. It was truly heartwarming to have this much loved Lindisfarne tradition on the school calendar.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, movement, and incredible energy, as students took to the floor with enthusiasm and commitment. Thank you to our dedicated PDHPE staff and to every Year 10 student who gave it their all. It was a joyful celebration of participation, fun, and social cohesion.

This morning, I had the pleasure of joining our Year 3 students for breakfast at Camp Goodenough. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our young learners — many of whom were attending their very first school camp.

The excitement, courage, and sense of independence they displayed was inspiring. Camps are a rite of passage in our school and offer rich moments for learning, growth, and lifelong memories. I thank the Year 3 teaching and support staff for their care and enthusiasm in making the camp such a success.

Sing for R U OK? Community Choir – Monday, 8 September

A heartfelt reminder to join us for one of Lindisfarne’s most uplifting events, our annual Sing for R U OK? Community Choir Night, taking place on Monday, 8 September, 6:00pm at The Citadel in Murwillumbah.

Led once again by the incomparable Vicky Jacobs, this ‘pub choir’ style evening invites all members of our community to come together in song, solidarity, and support for mental health and suicide prevention. No singing experience required, just your presence and a willingness to connect.

Big Boys’ Breakfast – Book Now

Our much-loved Big Boys’ Breakfasts are fast approaching, and we warmly invite fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and special friends to join us in celebrating the important role they play in the lives of our students.

  • Junior School – Wednesday, 10 September, 7.45am
    Book Here

  • Mahers Lane – Thursday, 11 September, 7.30am (Senior Centre Deck)
    Book Here

These events are always highlights on our calendar. Please book early to avoid missing out.

Best wishes to all our Lindisfarne netball teams playing in the Grand Final this Saturday at Arkinstall Park from 11:00am. What an achievement to have five of our teams competing at this level! Please consider attending the Grand Finals and help fill the courts with Lindisfarne Lions spirit.

A special shoutout to our staff team, the Mamba Lions, for making the Grand Final as well. Good luck, and congratulations on your incredible effort this season!

To all the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our community, Happy Father’s Day for this weekend. We honour the strength, love, and steady presence you bring to your families and our school. I hope your weekend includes moments of appreciation and family connection.

Warm regards,

‘We Are Human Together’ - African Proverb.

Dear Members of the Lindisfarne Anglican School community

“The problem of ‘othering’”, John Powell said, “is one of the greatest challenges of our century.”

It is easy to see others as “the other.” As a migrant, a proud Nigerian and Australian, I am saddened when migrants and refugees are spoken of as threats rather than as people.

I wish to make it clear that I do not support open borders, but rather a fair and well-managed approach to migration. At the same time, I do not condone the actions of those who burn the Australian flag or seek to cause harm to our community.

The truth is that migration is essential to Australia’s future. With our fertility rate at just 1.51 (well below the 2.1 replacement rate), our ageing population needs the skills, energy, and contributions of new Australians. Research shows that by 2050, migration will add $1.6 trillion to our economy. Migrants are often highly educated, in their prime working years, and quick to boost productivity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. They don’t take away from our Australian society, in fact they help sustain it.

But migration is about more than economics. It is about real people. Migrants, like me and my family, bring stories, traditions, and gifts that enrich our Australian culture. Consider Nyamko Sabuni, born in Sweden to Congolese parents. She rose to become Sweden’s Minister for Integration and Gender Equality, making a lasting contribution to her nation’s public life. Her story reminds us how migration strengthens not just economies, but societies and communities.

As the writer Etty Hillesum wisely said: “We must destroy in ourselves what we ought to destroy in others.” Division begins in the heart. In Africa we say, “We are human together”; and “I am because we are” (Ubuntu).

If we are to thrive as a nation and as communities, we must move beyond “us and them” thinking. What we need is dialogue, compassion, and a shared commitment to one another’s wellbeing. Migration is not just about numbers—it’s about who we are, and who we can become, together.

Click HERE for more details on the economic impact of migration.

Click HERE to view ABS statistics on fertility rate.

At our school, we see this truth every day: the growing richness of cultural diversity makes our community stronger, kinder, and more vibrant.

Let us teach our children to walk the path of love, fraternity, dialogue, and cultural diversity, and not the path of hatred, ‘othering’ and exclusion.

As we mark Father’s Day this weekend, I pray that all fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures may be blessed with joy in the company of their loved ones. May our Heavenly Father, whose everlasting love embraces us all, continue to uphold you in His unfailing grace.

Please join us on Sunday, 7 September, in the Mahers Lane Chapel for the ‘Spiritual Gym’ to celebrate our fathers and grandfathers on Sunday at 4.30pm (refreshments) and 5.00pm (service of Thanksgiving).

Thank you for who you are and for all you do.

With abundant blessings,

Reverend Constantine
Chaplain

Apple Filming at Lindisfarne

This week, Lindisfarne was proud to welcome a production team from Apple to our Mahers Lane campus as part of their global Apple Stories initiative. Over four days, classrooms and learning spaces across the school became the backdrop for filming that celebrates our innovative use of technology in teaching and learning.

To be selected for this international showcase is a significant honour, and a reflection of the creativity, dedication, and forward thinking approach of our students and staff. The visiting crew, including representatives from Apple’s Australian and US teams, were warmly welcomed and deeply impressed by the energy and professionalism they encountered.

We look forward to sharing the final product once released (likely early in 2026) and thank everyone involved for representing our school with such pride and purpose.

Fathers’ Day Morning Tea at Preschool

This week, our Preschool children were delighted to welcome their dads or grandads to share in a special Father’s Day Morning Tea at Preschool.

The mornings were filled with joy and laughter as the children and their guests spent precious time together enjoying a range of fun activities. From a round of mini-golf and relaxing massages to playing games and reading stories, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The children loved the opportunity to show their dads and grandads around the Preschool and to join in these special experiences side by side.

After the activities, families came together to share a beautiful morning tea. The sense of community was strong as conversations flowed, smiles were exchanged, and memorable moments were made.

We thank all the dads and grandads who joined us for these wonderful mornings and helped make Fathers’ Day such a meaningful celebration for our Preschool children.

24-Hour Run - Supporting the Lindisfarne Safe Sleepbus

Our Year 8 students are preparing to lead the inaugural 24-Hour Run Project, to be held in the Mahers Lane Chapel from 2.00pm Thursday, 18 September to 2.00pm Friday, 19 September 2025.

This 24-hour challenge, led by Year 8 students, will see students and staff take turns on treadmills to raise awareness and funds for the proposed Lindisfarne Safe Sleepbus. The Lindisfarne Safe Sleepbus will provide safe overnight accommodation for people experiencing homelessness in the Tweed Shire, with secure sleeping pods, hygiene facilities, and connections to local support services.

The project already has strong community backing, with Rotary members, Murwillumbah Bus Tech, and the Dickson family in Murwillumbah lending their expertise and resources.

To help bring the Lindisfarne Safe Sleepbus to life, we have set up a GoFundMe page where families and community members can contribute. Every donation will go directly towards the refurbishment and operation of the bus. https://gofund.me/32ef7bda

This initiative reflects the Round Square ideal of Service, giving our Year 8 students the opportunity to take meaningful action and contribute to lasting change in our community.

Stage 3 Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews

Stage 3 Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Monday, 9 September and Tuesday, 10 September in the Mahers Lane Chapel, running from 4.00pm to 8.00pm each evening.

Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to attend, and students are also invited to be part of the conversation, sharing their learning and reflections with teachers and families.

Please note: if your child is attending in school uniform, they should be dressed appropriately and in line with our usual standards.

R U OK? Week - 8 to 12 September 2025

Next week, our school will acknowledge R U OK? Week, a time to focus on connection, kindness, and the importance of checking in with one another. Across the week, students will take part in activities that highlight empathy, resilience, and the power of conversation.

Highlights include:

Monday night: Sing for R U OK? at the Citadel in Murwillumbah from 6:00pm - a joyful evening of singing, raising awareness, and celebrating community.

Lunchtimes: A variety of activities, including conversation starters in the Heads of House and Middle School, a talking circle, and a photo page.

Thursday, 11 September: Students and staff are invited to wear a splash of yellow with their school uniform to show support for R U OK? Day.

These activities are designed to remind our students that checking in with friends and loved ones matters - not just on R U OK? Day, not just this week, but every day. Together, we can help ensure our young people know that they are seen, supported, and never alone.

New Social Media Legislation

From 10 December 2025, new legislation will come into effect, setting a minimum age of 16 for social media accounts. The change is designed to protect young people online and support parents in guiding their children’s digital use.

Well-known platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, X and Reddit, will all be covered by the new rules. Social media companies will need to take steps to stop under-16s from accessing their platforms. If they do not, they risk penalties of up to $50 million.

There are no fines for children or families who find their way onto these platforms, but we strongly discourage trying to find workarounds. This is an opportunity to support healthy boundaries for our young people and help reduce some of the pressures that social media brings.

The federal government has put together a fact sheet that outlines the reasons behind the change and gives practical examples of how it will work. You can access it here: Social Media Minimum Age - Fact Sheet.

As the government notes: “This is about protecting young people - not punishing or isolating them - and supporting parents when it comes to overseeing their children’s health and wellbeing.”

Year 5 Take on Lake Ainsworth!

Last week, our Year 5 students embarked on a four-day adventure at Lake Ainsworth — and what an unforgettable experience it was!

For many of our youngest Middle Schoolers, this camp marked their first extended time away from home. While that can be a big challenge, our Year 5s rose to the occasion with courage, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles.

Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of exciting and challenging activities that pushed them out of their comfort zones and helped them realise just how much they’re capable of. Sailing was a clear highlight! While the lake was mostly calm, the first day saw a few surprises—capsized boats, strong winds, and even a few sailors blown into the trees! Yet even after returning to camp looking like they’d braved a mini cyclone, the students were still beaming, declaring sailing one of the best parts of the week.

Close behind on the list of favourites was Archery Tag. There's something undeniably fun about launching foam-tipped arrows at your classmates (and teachers!), and this action-packed activity was a big hit with everyone involved.

Overall, Camp Lake Ainsworth was more than just fun—it was a chance for our students to grow, bond, and create lasting memories. We hope this adventure sets the tone for a positive and confident journey through Middle School.

Pastoral Care Program

Last week, our Pastoral Care program shifted focus from the Round Square Spirit of Adventure to the Spirit of Leadership. This transition is particularly timely, as our Year 12 students recently delivered their leadership speeches in the lead-up to the announcement of our 2026 school leaders. These moments provide a valuable opportunity for younger students to see leadership in action, not just as a title, but as a responsibility to inspire, serve, and guide others. Pastoral Care lessons had the students reflect on the qualities that make an effective leader: vision, responsibility, courage, and the ability to lift others up.

In the coming weeks, our Middle School students will also take part in their own leadership journey, with Year 7 students preparing their captaincy speeches. These moments provide not only an opportunity for students to express their vision for leadership, but also for their peers and teachers to carefully consider the strengths, values, and qualities each candidate brings.

Across the school, our leadership lessons will encourage students to consider what kind of leader they want to be, both now and in the future. By engaging with activities that explore teamwork, vision, and service, we hope every student sees that leadership is not confined to a badge or position. Leadership can be found in the small, everyday actions that contribute to our community.

We look forward to watching our students step into these moments with courage and purpose, embracing the Spirit of Leadership in all they do.

Inaugural 24-Hour Run Project

We’re thrilled to share that our Year 8 students are preparing to launch the very first 24-Hour Run Project, taking place in the Mahers Lane Chapel from 2.00pm Thursday, 18 September to 2.00pm Friday, 19 September.

This unique, student-led event is all about connection, participation, leadership, and service. Over 24 hours, Year 8 students will keep the treadmills moving in 20-minute rotations, cheering one another on and showing what can be achieved when a community works together.

The project is raising awareness and funds for the Lindisfarne Safe Sleepbus initiative, and we’ve set ourselves an ambitious target of $20,000 to help provide safe overnight shelter for people experiencing homelessness in the Tweed Shire.

Although the heart of this project is Year 8, we’d love to see the wider school community join in, especially during the after-school and overnight sections. There will be food in the evening, breakfast in the morning, and staff on hand throughout the night to support students who volunteer for the later hours, and there will be a bit of a year group celebration the following day as the run closes off at 2pm in the Chapel.

We warmly invite families to get behind the run and help us reach our goal. Donations can be made via the link below, with every contribution making a genuine difference to those in need in our local community.

The 24-Hour Run Project is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to take the lead, bring our community together, and live out the Round Square IDEALS of Service in a very real and meaningful way.

International Update

Connecting Cultures, Creating Opportunities

At Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, we know that the best learning doesn’t just happen in classrooms - it happens when young people connect, share and see the world through someone else’s eyes.

This year we have welcomed several international students who have already enriched our school with new perspectives, traditions, and friendships. From sharing meals and cultural activities with homestay families, to participating in school events, our international students remind us daily of the value of openness, curiosity, and global citizenship.

Looking ahead, we are excited to expand our international program. Our goal is to provide more opportunities for both local and international students to learn from each other, preparing our students for a future where intercultural understanding is not just an advantage, but a necessity.

We invite our community to be part of this journey. Whether as homestay hosts, or enthusiastic participants in upcoming events, there will be many ways to support and celebrate the growth of our international program. Together, we can ensure Lindisfarne continues to be a place where global perspectives are embraced and where every student feels a sense of belonging.

Meet Matteo

Since arriving in April 2025, Matteo has embraced life at Lindisfarne and all that Australia has to offer. From riding the Rail Trail and learning to surf, to cooking traditional Italian meals for friends and his homestay family, he has thrown himself wholeheartedly into new experiences.

Matteo has explored some of our most iconic destinations, including Melbourne, Sydney and the red heart of Uluru, where he had the privilege of meeting Indigenous Elders and discovering Aboriginal art and music.

Back home in Italy, Matteo enjoys fishing, sailing, and flying in small planes with his father – passions he has also been able to pursue during his time here. He describes his exchange as an unforgettable adventure and is deeply grateful for the friendships and memories he has made in Australia.

Forces in Action

This term, our budding scientists in Year 5 are diving into the world of Forces as part of their Science unit. Through hands-on experiments and creative projects, students are exploring how different forces shape the way things move and interact.

One of the exciting highlights this term will be designing and building their very own arcade games, each one showcasing a variety of forces in action. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their scientific understanding in a fun and practical way.

This week, 5A explored the wonders of static electricity—with some electrifying results! Balloons, hair, and a few surprised expressions made for a memorable investigation. The classroom was buzzing (quite literally), and the outcomes were naturally hair-raising!

We’re looking forward to seeing the amazing games our Year 5s create as they continue their exploration of science in action.

Sport

Our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 girls representative Netballers flew to Adelaide this year. I was stoked to join the touring crew, but for me personally, it was more of a reconnaissance trip to check out the virtues of the National All Schools competition for future planning. I was joined by Netball staff members Maddie Bell, Ellie Cusack, Jackie Matthews and Netball Teacher in Charge - Suzanne Evans.

The competition itself is still embryonic and in its infancy, but the schools it draws are all class. As the students will attest, it is a very hard competition to win games - but offers our girls a brilliant opportunity to travel and play together in challenging matches. Also, playing schools from South Australia and Victoria adds a nice variety to our program.

All in all, it was a very fun trip, our students were wonderful company. A full write up will be in next week's newsletter from Suzanne Evans.

RECENT GAMES

ALL SAINTS GIRLS 7s FRIENDLY

Last Tuesday, our U16 and U14 girls 7s squads travelled to All Saints School for some friendly matches against Emmanuel, All Saints and Somerset. This was a brilliant afternoon, with several U14 girls getting their first taste of rugby 7s, and we want to say a big thank you to All Saints for hosting these games.

U16

Our afternoon of friendly games against Somerset and All Saints was a huge success once again. Our squad played some very entertaining 7’s, scoring some fantastic individual and team tries. The off-loading game was a huge asset, and our decision-making definitely improved from our previous tournament.

The most pleasing aspect of the games was our ability to try new things and improve our confidence in this area, understanding that failure is a good thing when trying new things on the field at this stage of their development.

Ruby Lynch was outstanding in every game with a superb work rate gaining her player of the day. Elodie Mueller also had a strong day with a determined try-saving tackle in one of our matches, and her development continues to grow after a great season. Milla Sergiacomi picked up our final point with a strong afternoon, whilst also always showing great respect to the ref and the opposition coaches and players.

U14

Our friendly rugby carnival at All Saints was another wonderful afternoon of sport, spirit, and skill. Versing teams from All Saints, Somerset, and Emmanuel, our 14s put on a great display of sevens rugby, showing growth, courage, some outstanding individual performances and teamwork. One of the most pleasing parts of the day was watching our team’s confidence continue to grow. The players embraced mistakes as part of learning, stepped out of their comfort zones, and showed great sportsmanship in every match. Zoe Hawkins, our player of the day, was fearless in defence, making a string of try-saving tackles.. Phoebe Nagle also impressed with her strong tackling and excellent ball skills, helping drive momentum in key moments. Winnie Humphreys was a constant threat with her speed and agility, weaving through defenders and keeping the opposition on their toes.

Whilst the majority of our U14’s have never played before, they certainly didn’t look like it on the field. This team definitely has some great potential.

Well done to all our players – we’re proud of your growth, teamwork, and spirit!

Emmanuel - Loss

Physio Place Sponsorship

The Lindisfarne Rugby Program is very fortunate to have the Physio Place from Tweed Heads as a sponsor in 2025. Physio Place is one of the leading physiotherapy practices on the Gold Coast and is headed up by one of our Lindisfarne alumni, Dr Carly Jennar. Dr Jennar has an extensive background in contact sports and currently works with Tweed Seagulls Rugby League Cup squad, Brisbane Broncos NRLW team, QLD Women’s State of Origin team and has been to two Rugby League World Cups with both the Australian and Papua New Guinea Women’s National teams. You can find out more about the team of staff at Physio Place HERE.

As part of this sponsorship, Physio Place will provide Lindisfarne rugby players and families with discounted physiotherapy consultations ($30 reduction in charges) at Physio Place in Tweed Heads (next to Rebel Sport). They will also assist with:

  • Physiotherapy support and first aid during home games

  • Strapping at a suitable time before home and away games for players at school

  • Triage for any injured players at the school the day after match days or tournaments;

  • Physiotherapy support for major tournaments (e.g., Ballymore Cup and QLD All Schools) at tournament locations.

If you need physiotherapy or have any injuries, please contact Physio Place on (07) 55239994, or you can also book online at their website HERE.

Monday After School (Y7-12) and Tuesday Before School (Open Boys 7s Wider Squad) Training

In Term 3, our main training sessions outside of school time are on Monday after school (1530-1645) for all Y7-12 players and Tuesday before school until the end of P1 (0700-0940) for the U18 and U16 7s training squad on the following dates in September: 2/9, 9/9 and 16/9. Rugby union is a team sport, and we still need as many of our players to be in attendance week in and week out to grow the Lindisfarne rugby program. If there is any way we can be of assistance to help facilitate this, please let us know.

Also, please note we will NOT be sending reminders for these training sessions (all players and families should assume our Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning training sessions will ALWAYS BE ON); however, we will let you all know with as much time as possible if we need to cancel a session due to weather or other factors.

School Uniform and Training Attire

Students should be in proper training attire (NOT school sports uniform) with a mouthguard, boots and any other equipment they play with for every training session. This requirement also includes integrated school sport on Thursday, i.e., students should wear our rugby training top or similar and not the school sport polo at this time. Alongside this, students should have a towel and a spare school uniform to change into in case there is wet weather.

Outside of rugby training times, students should be in the correct uniform, which includes wearing the school sport polo on Thursday in P1-2 and P5-6 and in PE lessons and not rugby training tops.

Stack Team APP

The Stack Team app will be our Rugby Union program’s main form of communication for all our squads.

As a reminder, both parents and Boys’ / Girls’ 7s students who have parental permission for smartphones will need to download the app and join the Lindisfarne Rugby Program in the app.

To download the Stack team app, use the following links:

● iOS: https://www.teamapp.com/ios-ap...

● Android: https://www.teamapp.com/androi...

Once downloaded, please search for 'Lindisfarne Rugby Program' and request to join.

Recreational Sport - Horse Riding

At Kyllarie Retreat, there is always something to enjoy—even when the sun decides to hide! Just a few weeks ago, the rain was pouring down and many other sports were called off. But our bus still rolled out, and instead of riding, we swapped saddles for stable time!

With boots on the ground, we learned how to plait and braid manes and tails, polish hooves, de-shed, and give the ponies a thorough groom. By the end, the ponies looked spectacular—and the stables were filled with laughter and chatter as we made the most of our rainy-day adventure at Kyllarie Retreat.

Celebrating HSC Drama Examinations

On Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 September our Year 12 Drama students took to the stage for their HSC Drama Practical Examinations. These were two days that will long be remembered in the Lindisfarne Performing Arts story.

The examinations showcased both Group Performances and Individual Projects, each one a culmination of months of rehearsal, creativity, and resilience. What stood out most, however, was not only the calibre of the performances but the commitment, camaraderie, and unwavering support this remarkable group of students demonstrated for one another.

From early morning rehearsals to late night polishing sessions our Year 12 Drama class has shown extraordinary dedication. They have pushed themselves artistically, challenged each other to grow, and embraced the true collaborative spirit of theatre. Their performances reflected not only their individual talent but also the trust, discipline, and hard work that they have consistently displayed as an ensemble.

The atmosphere over the two examination days was something truly special. The sense of pride, encouragement, and shared achievement filled the performance space and was a testament to the friendships and teamwork forged over their senior years. It is no exaggeration to say that these two days will be etched into Lindisfarne Drama memories for years to come.

We congratulate our Year 12 Drama students on their outstanding efforts, and we thank them for the inspiration they have provided to the Performing Arts community. Their journey reminds us that great theatre is not only about performance but also about dedication, courage, and unity. We wish our 18 thespians every success in their future endeavours.

A special thank you to Clementine Ball in Year 10 for her commitment to the technical production throughout the HSC examinations.

HSC Music Showcase

On Wednesday, 27 August, our Year 12 Music students took to the stage for their HSC Music Showcase. The evening featured an impressive range of performances on voice, guitar, piano, violin, drums, and original composition, each reflecting the individuality and dedication of our senior musicians.

The program offered a mix of classical and contemporary repertoire, alongside original works, giving a glimpse into the creativity and hard work that has shaped their final year of study. A special highlight was an original tribute from the Year 11 Music class, followed by a moving finale with the Year 12 cohort performing Soul Education as a full ensemble.

Congratulations to our Year 12 musicians on a memorable evening of music-making. We wish them every success as they approach their final HSC examinations.

Gold Coast Dance Eisteddfod

Over the weekend, our Dance Performance and Development Teams proudly represented our school at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod, hosted at A.B. Paterson College. The event brought together some of the region’s most talented young dancers from Gold Coast schools, and our students rose to the occasion with commitment, energy, and artistry.

Congratulations to all dancers involved for their outstanding efforts. Their achievements at the Eisteddfod are a celebration of both skill and the spirit of teamwork. We look forward to seeing how these experiences continue to shape their dance journeys.

Student Achievement - RSL Award

Congratulations Tessa Ford!

It is my great pleasure to announce that Year 11 student, Tessa Ford, has been recognised with an RSL Award for her outstanding service to the Veterans League and our local RSL.

Tessa has shown continuous dedication through her support of ANZAC Day ceremonies, where she has performed the Last Post and Reveille with great dignity and respect. Her service highlights the importance of honouring traditions, strengthening our community, and showing gratitude for the sacrifices of our veterans.

We are proud to present this award on behalf of the RSL and to acknowledge the meaningful contribution Tessa has made through her music to both Lindisfarne and the wider community.

HICES Music Festival

Lindisfarne Students Shine at the HICES Music Festival

Nine of our talented music students recently represented Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School at the highly regarded HICES Music Festival, held at Stanwell Tops, NSW. This four-day event brought together 450 student musicians from independent schools across the state for an intensive and inspiring musical experience.

Throughout the week, students participated in a series of full ensemble and sectional rehearsals, led by a team of expert conductors and tutors. The festival offered a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in ensemble performance, grow their musicality, and connect with like-minded peers from across New South Wales.

The festival culminated in a spectacular concert at the Sydney Town Hall, where students performed repertoire spanning classical, contemporary, world, and film music. It was a fitting celebration of their hard work and dedication across the four days, and a truly memorable moment for both performers and audience members alike.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Lindisfarne, not just through their musical excellence, but also through their collaboration, leadership, and community spirit. Congratulations to all involved!

Senior Choir - 2025 Gold Coast Eisteddfod

We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of our Senior Choir, who represented Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School with excellence at the 2025 Gold Coast Eisteddfod, performing in the Secondary School Choir (Years 7–12) section.

Performing to a packed audience, the choir delivered a compelling and musically sophisticated performance, earning a Gold Award and second place in a highly competitive field. Their program showcased exceptional versatility, with contrasting works that demonstrated expressive phrasing, strong ensemble cohesion, and a warm, blossoming tone that filled the venue.

The adjudicator, Julie Christensen, praised the choir for their “nuance and precision,” noting that their performance was “captivating from start to finish”. Particular mention was made of the atmospheric solo and opening of one of their pieces, as well as the choir’s sensitive use of dynamics and presence that held the audience throughout.

This outstanding result is a credit to the commitment of our students and their Choir Director, Mrs Stephanie Palmer, and accompanist, Mr Steve Russell.
