Foreword

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The sunshine has been a welcome sight this week after so much rain. There’s a renewed energy around the school — students back out enjoying the ovals, smiling faces at drop-off, and a real sense of momentum as we settle into Term 2. It’s been a full and rewarding week, and I’m pleased to share some of the highlights with you.

This week took me down to Wagga Wagga for the AHISA Term 2 Branch Meeting, where I had the chance to meet with other school leaders from around the state. These gatherings are always valuable, giving us time to share ideas, discuss challenges, and reflect on how we can continue improving our students' educational experience. I always return feeling energised and proud of the work we’re doing here at Lindisfarne.

One of the true highlights of my week was back on Wednesday morning at our Sunshine Avenue Campus. I joined our youngest students for National Simultaneous Storytime, where schools across Australia stop to enjoy the same book at the same time. This year’s story was The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel — a charming tale about a curious cat named Tinka who sets off on an adventure across the country with truck driver Yacoub. It’s a gentle, heartwarming story about friendship, belonging, identity, family, a life on the road and a place called home. Sharing that moment with our eager and imaginative young learners was just joyful. Their excitement and wonder were contagious!

On Wednesday evening, I had the pleasure of attending Germinate Records Live at The Citadel in Murwillumbah. What an incredible night of original music and community spirit. Once again, our student musicians amazed us with their creativity, talent, and passion. Moments like these remind me just how special our Lindisfarne community is — filled with young people willing to share their hearts and gifts on stage and the families and staff who support them so thoroughly.

As we head into the weekend, here is a reminder that we are seeking your input as part of the development of our next strategic plan. Lindisfarne is partnering with research agency McCrindle to gather feedback from students, staff, families, and community members.

Surveys have been distributed recently to help us better understand the strengths, opportunities, and future priorities for our school as we look ahead to Lindisfarne 2032, the impact of the Brisbane Olympic Games, the exciting opportunities emerging in our region, and the aspirations, hopes and dreams for Lindisfarne into the future.

I am pleased to share that this survey will remain open until the end of the day Friday, 30 May 2025. You can complete the survey HERE. We thank you in advance for your time and insights as we work together to shape Lindisfarne's future.

Looking ahead, I’d like to warmly invite you to our first Business Breakfast of the year on Tuesday, 3 June. We’re thrilled to welcome Sophie Renton, Managing Director at the renowned research firm McCrindle, as our guest speaker. Sophie is a leading social researcher and generational expert whose work helps organisations navigate complexity and lead with clarity in an ever-changing world. Her topic, “The Key Megatrends Transforming Society and the Business Landscape,” will offer a fascinating look at the major demographic, social, economic, technological, and generational shifts shaping our future. With experience in education and leadership strategy, Sophie brings research to life with practical insights relevant to business professionals, educators, and parents alike. It promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking morning — one not to miss! Further details are below in the newsletter and booking information is available here.

Next week, our Years 7 to 11 students will head off to camp, and there is a sense of adventure and excitement as we take learning beyond the School. School camp is such a valuable part of the learning journey. It’s where friendships are deepened, new skills are learned, and personal growth happens in big and small ways. Whether it’s hiking, cooking outdoors, or simply spending time away from the familiar, these experiences leave lasting memories. I wish all our students and staff a safe and enriching time away.

Our year 12 students remain on campus for a very special week, which consists of activities, major works, revision, and review. I know how much our year 12 students value this time each year and I wish the class of 2025 well for the week ahead.

As we head into the weekend, I hope you enjoy some of this glorious sunshine or just a moment to recharge. Thank you, as always, for being such an engaged and supportive school community.

Warm regards,

Stuart Marquardt

Dear Students, Staff, Parents and Guardians,

As you may know, Lindisfarne is part of the Round Square international network of schools. One of the ‘Ideals’ of Round Square is ‘Adventure,’ which I would like to focus on in this article.

At its heart, adventure is about stepping out of our comfort zone and trying something new. In this week’s Chapel Services, I based my talks on the Apostle Peter having the courage to step out of the boat onto the water, to come to Jesus, who was defying the laws of gravity, by miraculously walking across Lake Galilee.

When the disciples first saw Jesus walking on the lake, they, understandably, couldn’t believe their eyes. But Jesus answered their bewilderment by saying, “Take courage, it is I, don’t be afraid.” However, if we were to translate Jesus’ words more literally, it would read, “take heart, fear not, I AM is here”,

In trying to polish up Jesus’ actual response into grammatically correct English, most translations miss the gravitas of Jesus’ response, as he’s actually claiming God’s Covenant name, Yahweh, meaning, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’

So, what Jesus was actually saying to his disciples was, in effect, “What are you worried about? God is here!” But when Peter challenged the hypothesis of Jesus’ gravity defying divine stroll, much to his amazement, he was able to walk on water too.

This was until he took his eyes off Jesus and became anxious about the reality of the situation, causing him to sink. Peter, with no time to lose, prayed the most important prayer request anyone could ever pray to Jesus, “Lord, save me!”

We read that, ‘immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”’ Two things are significant here:

Firstly, the opposite of fear is often considered to be courage, but from a Christian perspective, it’s actually faith that is the opposite to fear - a faith that leads to courage.

Secondly, Jesus' immediate action of saving Peter is exactly what he came for. In fact, Jesus’ name, literally for the Hebrew, Yahshua (Joshua in English), means ‘Yahweh saves.’ And this is exactly what Peter experienced, first hand.

Interestingly, and not by coincidence, the phrase “do not be afraid” appears in the Bible 366 times - one for each day of the year, even including leap years!

There is so much anxiety and fear in our world today, especially among our young people, due to a myriad of reasons - the impact of social media, cost of living, political polarisations, natural disasters… and also the micro stressors they experience every day.

The Christian answer to this is not just to pluck up the courage from anywhere, but to base it on a faith response to God, made manifest in Jesus Christ. It is a faith response which I have sought to inhabit each and every day for the past 30 years, and I can testify to the fact that it has resulted in an amazing, ongoing adventure.

However, it needs to be said that adventure is not about being reckless but about taking calculated risks. We now know that, in regards to neurological development, the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of the brain responsible for assessing risk and consequence, doesn’t generally reach full maturity until around the mid to late 20s.

This is important for our young people to be aware of, and also for us as parents, caregivers and teachers to keep in mind. We want to encourage our young people to step out of their comfort zones by taking calculated risks, not for them to take dangerous risks that may have catastrophic consequences.

Finally, adventure comes from the Latin word ‘adventurus’, which means ‘about to happen.’ It’s why Christians call the period leading up to Christmas, ‘Advent,’ because celebrating the birth of Jesus is ‘about to happen!’

This sense of adventurous - ‘it’s about to happen’ - is very timely for our year 7-11 students who are about to embark on the adventurous journey of camp next week.

My encouragement to all campers is to take this opportunity to step out of your comfort zones by taking calculated risks and encourage your friends to join you in that adventure!

Happy camping!

Blessings,

Reverend Lyndon
Chaplain

What a fantastic week it has been on the Junior School campus! With the sun shining and the weather on our side, students and staff have embraced every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and make the most of our beautiful school environment.

National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday, we were proud to take part in National Simultaneous Storytime, joining thousands of students across the country in a shared reading experience. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr Marquardt for once again making this event a priority in his busy calendar. His enthusiasm, willingness to dress in character, and passion for reading inspire our students year after year.

A big thank you also goes to Miss Affleck for her careful planning and behind the scenes organisation, her attention to detail ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish. And to Miss Tammy, thank you for your creativity and vision in designing the set.

The Heritage School Visit

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming students and staff from The Heritage School in India. During their visit, they spent time in our Preschool, Kindergarten, and Year 1 classrooms, taking part in lessons and joining our students in the playground. These meaningful interactions were a wonderful reminder of the value of cultural exchange and the rich learning that comes from shared experiences.

Stage 2 Musical

Rehearsals for our Stage 2 Musical, Finding Nemo Jr are in full swing, with our enthusiastic Year 3 and 4 students heading to Mahers Lane next week to rehearse on the main stage in Ngahriyah. Both staff and students have been putting in a tremendous amount of effort, and the excitement is building as they prepare to perform in Week 8 of this term. We are looking forward to seeing their hard work come to life on stage and sharing this special production with our school community.

A Note About Afternoon Pick-Up

Thank you to all families who continue to respect the parking restrictions and signage around the Junior School. Your support plays a vital role in keeping our students safe and ensuring a smooth and efficient drop off/pick-up process.

As a reminder, please do not park in the turning circle after 2:45 pm, as this area needs to remain clear for the end-of-day pick-up process.

Thank you for your continued support.

National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday, we celebrated the 25th edition of National Simultaneous Storytime at the Junior School. Held annually as part of Library and Information Week, each year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously around the country.

Mr Marquardt joined students from Preschool to Year 4 to share in a reading of this year's book, The Truck Cat. Written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell, it’s a moving tale of friendship, belonging, and the journey to find home. The children were engaged in this thought provoking story, brought to life so skillfully by Mr Marquardt.

Thanks to the enthusiastic participation in our ‘Flannie Day’, students raised funds to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation in improving literacy rates among Indigenous children in remote communities.

Thank you to everyone involved, particularly Mr Marquardt who so generously gives him time towards ensuring the event is a success. It was lovely reminiscing over the past 7 years of Storytime at the Junior School and it remains a highlight in everyone’s calendar! Thank you also to Miss Tammy for creating the beautiful backdrop that complimented the reading so well.

Sophia Shines at the ICAS All-Stars State Championship

Sophia Daranjo from Year 5 was recently invited to take part in the ICAS All-Stars State Championship, a prestigious academic competition that brings together top-performing students from across the state. This was Sophia’s first time competing at the State level, and she approached the opportunity with great excitement and enthusiasm.

Her invitation came after outstanding results in recent ICAS assessments. High Distinctions in English and Digital Technologies, placing her in the top 1% of students in Australia, Distinctions in Mathematics and Writing, placing her in the top 6% and 8%, respectively.

The State Championship was held in Sydney and assessed a wide range of academic abilities, including English, Mathematics, Science, reasoning, general knowledge, and Digital Literacy. Although there weren’t many photo opportunities during the event, Sophia was captured setting up her iPad, calm and focused, ready for the challenge. Sophia was also photographed at school after receiving her Reading Millionaire’s certificate last term!

Congratulations to Sophia on this incredible achievement. We are so proud of her dedication to learning and the way she embraced this experience with confidence and curiosity.

Trading Game Activity

This week, Ms. Boddy’s Year 8 students took part in an exciting and fast-paced trading game designed to simulate global trade. Each group started with different resources and was challenged to make as much money as possible. There was plenty of enthusiasm, competition, and creativity on display! Afterwards, students reflected thoughtfully on the fairness of global trade, the impact of resource inequality, and the real-world parallels around aid, tariffs, and exploitation. It was a fun and eye-opening experience that helped bring our Geography unit to life.

Senior School

Head of Senior School

In the Senior School, we are committed to the holistic education and development of our students. This responsibility, however, cannot rest solely with the School. The challenges young people face today are both complex and evolving. Only through a strong partnership between school and families can we truly guide our students to make wise, kind choices.

One area of ongoing concern is road safety. With more students riding e-bikes and driving independently, we are seeing too many near misses and serious incidents in our local area. These are not just statistics, they represent real danger. While we educate students about road safety and responsible behaviour, these messages resonate more strongly when echoed at home. A consistent voice from school and families has far greater impact.

Technology and social media are also shared concerns. The online world is exciting, but it carries significant risks, from inappropriate content to cyberbullying and digital fatigue. Home plays a vital role in modelling good digital habits, setting boundaries, and encouraging open, judgment-free dialogue. Actively engaging with your child’s online activity is not an invasion of privacy, but a way to support them in navigating a complex space.

We hold students to high standards that reflect our values of Compassion, Wisdom and Respect. We also foster a culture of tolerance and acceptance. I wrote about this in last week’s newsletter, and then reiterated this message in Tuesday’s assembly. These values gain strength when reinforced at home. When families and schools speak with one voice, students internalise these expectations as part of who they are.

Finally, in a world that often avoids discomfort, we must remind ourselves and our children that growth comes through challenge. Our camp program is a key part of this, pushing students beyond their comfort zones in a safe, supportive environment. Opting out risks sending the wrong message. We ask families to see these programs as essential, not optional.

We are ready to do the lion’s share of this important work, but we need your partnership. Together, we can send a powerful message about what matters most. Please keep the conversations going at home, model the values we live by, and stand with us in shaping a safe, respectful, and resilient next generation.

Agriculture

Agriculture News

Over the past three months, the Year 10 Agriculture students embarked on a comprehensive chrysanthemum enterprise project. This hands-on experience involved attentive care of the chrysanthemum plot, tracking of expenses, and consistent monitoring of soil health and pest management. Despite significant challenges posed by this year's high rainfall, the students successfully cultivated the chrysanthemums, ensuring they flowered in time for the pre-Mother's Day harvest.

This collaborative effort saw Year 9 Agriculture students and dedicated volunteers assisting with the harvesting and bunching. The small scale plant enterprise provided an invaluable real-world learning opportunity, equipping students with practical skills and a deeper understanding of factors influencing plant growth, soil stewardship, marketing strategies, and essential business insight, culminating in a tangible sense of accomplishment. Thank you to everyone who supported the project through their flower purchases.

The ‘Cows Create Careers’ Program is underway for another year, with the delightful arrival of two tiny Friesian dairy calves this week. Thanks to the ongoing support of Dairy Australia, this initiative provides students with valuable hands-on experience learning about the dairy industry and exploring the diverse career opportunities within Agriculture, specifically in the dairy field. The calves will be in the agriculture plot throughout this term before they return to their dairy farm in Tyalgum.

English

Year 9 English

This week in Year 9 English, students have been diving into John Misto’s The Shoe-Horn Sonata by stepping into the shoes of the characters themselves. Taking turns performing scenes from the play, we have been exploring the tension, humour and heartbreak at the heart of this powerful story.

Set decades after World War II, the play tells the story of Bridie and Sheila, two women who survived a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Their reunion sparks revelations about survival, silence and the strength of female friendship.

To better understand the history behind the play, students have been working together on short investigations into Australia’s role in WWII, looking at events like the fall of Singapore and the experiences of Australian nurses and civilians. It’s been a week of active learning, rich discussions, and powerful storytelling.

Lindisfarne Debating Club

This week marked the opening session of our Lunchtime Debating Club, which welcomes all students on the Mahers Lane campus who are interested in developing their public speaking and critical thinking skills. Students who are already a part of the Gold Coast Debating Competition are also welcome to join, but no prior engagement in Debating or Public Speaking is required for this lunchtime club; this runs separately to our existing Debating extracurricular.

The session began with a short, engaging presentation from a group of passionate Year 10 students, who shared their knowledge of formal debating. Elizabeth, Django, Hugo and Orion- thank you for sharing your knowledge, time and love of debating with the younger students.

They covered the basics of structuring arguments and rebuttals, setting a strong foundation for newer members of the club. Following the presentation, students took part in an informal class split debate on the topic: “School uniforms should be banned.” The debate encouraged lively discussion and allowed students of all year levels to contribute their ideas. While some argued that uniforms create a sense of equality and school identity, others felt that banning them would promote self-expression and comfort.

The Lunchtime Debating Club aims to create a supportive space where students can build confidence, learn from each other, and improve their speaking and listening skills.

The Debating Club runs on a fortnightly (bi-weekly) cycle to give students time to prepare strong and thoughtful arguments.

  • Week 1 – Team sign-up & topic delivery
On Monday, students will be able to sign up their debating teams using a Google Form link that will be shared in the SEQTA notices.
On Tuesday lunchtime (in B5), all interested students should attend the session with their team. This is when we will:
    • Finalise sign-ups

    • Assign topics

    • Help teams begin brainstorming and preparing

  • Week 2 – Debate Week
On the following Tuesday lunchtime, the teams will return to Room B5 to deliver their prepared debates in front of the club. Each team will present their arguments and respond to the opposition, just like in a real debate setting.

All students are welcome, and no prior experience is required!
The club is designed to be flexible. Students can take part in a round of debates over two weeks, then take a break and return for a future round if they wish.

Year 11 Legal Studies

On Tuesday, 20 May, the Year 11 Legal Studies classes went to the Brisbane Supreme Court. The day started with our classes gathering in an empty courtroom and having the chance to listen and speak to a Judge, Justice Davis. The Hon Justice Peter Davis is a graduate of The Queensland University of Technology -Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (1984). In 1984, Justice Davis was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and was later admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1990. His Honour practised as a barrister from 1990 until appointed a judge in 2017. Justice Davis was nothing but inspiring and impactful, he gave an insight into what students might consider for careers in the future. This was such a unique opportunity to experience, and one that our class took full advantage of, asking endless questions and taking in every word.

The day continued with the classes split into groups, with each group going to see different court cases. We attended day four of a seven-day murder case, which provided valuable insight into the court process. We got to hear the testimony from a witness. Watching the prosecutor put pressure on the witness and deliberately asking calculated questions was like watching a real-life version of Legally Blonde. Other students experienced the sentencing of an individual and how the Judge hands down the punishment. Our day concluded with a research seminar in the Supreme Court library, which we can now incorporate into our future legal assignments. This was certainly an unforgettable experience that inspired us all, helping us see what our futures might look like one day.

  2. Select the SPORT SELECTIONS tile (this will launch the Clipboard portal)

  3. Go to ACTIVITY SELECTION (left hand side of calendar view)

  4. Select the correct student at the top right

  5. Navigate to Term 3 (Year Group) Integrated Sports 2025

You can also use the following instructions to log in to Clipboard HERE.

Term 3 integrated sports offerings are also linked below.

Our integrated sports program is the compulsory sport that will be timetabled into students' academic calendar for Years 5 to 10, with Years 11 and 12 optional. This sports program is part of the NSW Education and Standards Authority (NESA) and, as such, contributes to the minimum hours of Physical Activity within the school-mandated curriculum.

We encourage students to carefully select their sports, and, where applicable, to network with their friends in advance of when selections open (including having contingency plans if selections fill up). Please note that there are no sport swaps after the selection process - swapping students across roles and unravelling finance is not a straightforward process.

Touch Football- Asia Youth Pacific Cup

On May 15th, our Lindisfarne Touch Football squad captains had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2025 Asia Youth Pacific Cup. Held at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe, the event showcased a vibrant celebration of international sport. The students had the opportunity to spectate and meet some of the best up-and-coming talent in youth touch football. Our captains gained valuable insight and inspiration watching elite youth teams from across the globe compete at the highest level, further fueling their passion and leadership as representatives of Lindisfarne.

Spotlight on Chayse Kleinhans and Chase Medford

Both Chayse and Chase (both in Year 9) have been selected to represent the 2025 AFA (American Football Australia) U16 National NFL Team!

Chayse Kleinhans – Defensive Line

Chase Medford – Wide Receiver

Their journey begins with a week-long intensive training camp in July, where they’ll compete against a USA High School team. The boys are thrilled about this opportunity, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on their progress.

Border Schools Gala Day Events

Netball

On Tuesday, 20th May, Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School proudly hosted the Netball Border Schools Carnival at Arkinstall Park. The event brought together teams from Lindisfarne, Hillcrest Christian College, and St Andrews Lutheran College for a day filled with fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.

The event was led by Miss Evans with support from Miss Cusack and her Year 10 PASS class. As part of their unit on Sports and Event Management, the students were divided into four focus teams, each responsible for a key area of the carnival. From scheduling games and managing timing to recording results, scoring, and preparing certificates, the Year 10 students demonstrated impressive organisation, leadership, and professionalism throughout the day.

The Lindisfarne Under 15s team had a mixed day on the scoreboard, securing both wins and losses throughout their matches. They consistently demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and approached each game with determination and positivity.

Congratulations to all the players who took to the court, and a special thank you to Miss Evans and the Year 10 PASS students for their work behind the scenes. The carnival was a success, and we’re already looking forward to 2026!

Skateboarding - Lindisfarne Shreds at Inaugural Border Schools Skateboarding Comp

Lindisfarne students rolled into success at the first-ever Border Schools Skateboarding Competition, held earlier this week in a thrilling display of talent, style, and school spirit. Competing against strong contenders from St Andrews and Hillcrest, our skaters showed off their skills in two high-energy events: Park and Street.

The day featured an impressive mix of tricks, with competitors demonstrating moves like the Chicken Scratch, Possum Crawl, The Runaway, Kick Flick, and the daring Run Beside. Crowds were treated to an action-packed showcase of creativity and courage on the board.

Leading the charge for Lindisfarne was Noah “Canno” Canning, who took out 1st place in both the Park and Street competitions—a phenomenal double win. Duke “Shooter” McGarry also impressed the judges, securing 2nd place in the Park and 3rd in the Street.

Congratulations to all our students who competed on the day—you represented Lindisfarne with pride, passion, and plenty of style!

APS RUGBY RD4

U15 v TRINITY LUTHERAN - FORFEIT

U14 v SOMERSET

Our LAGS U14 team came up against Somerset College at Somerset and came away with a convincing 51-0 victory.

After a slow start with plenty of ball watching going on, the team finally swung into action and produced a quality team performance.

Lou Robin and Frederico Zanol Tavares gave the team great go forward ball with some strong carries and breaks. Quick and clean ball at the ruck allowed Jake Castle to feed his backs, where plenty of space was found through good passing, setting up some lovely tries, including a first ever try to Xavier Kane.

Creed Butler did some fine work at the breakdown, showing improved body position, which really helped to lay the platform for second and third phase ball.

It was hugely encouraging to keep Somerset scoreless through excellent work rates on defence, tackling hard, forcing multiple turnovers, which stopped any momentum Somerset felt they were getting.

A wonderful team effort that can be built on further for their upcoming fixtures.

U13 v SOMERSET

Lindisfarne U13 continued their strong form with a convincing 29-0 win over a combined side from Somerset College and AB Paterson College. The match was a physical contest throughout, but our boys showed plenty of grit and determination to come away with the result.

From the outset, Lindisfarne dominated both territory and possession, applying consistent pressure across the park. Our defensive line remained disciplined and organised, keeping the opposition scoreless and forcing repeated errors. In attack, we demonstrated excellent continuity and support play, converting opportunities into points with patience and some fantastic individual skill..

Ben Dickens led from the front with a powerful performance, consistently bending the line in attack. Archie Kinnaird had some strong carries with the ball, and Hunter Lloyd showed outstanding work rate and physicality across the park.

While the result was pleasing, there are still areas for improvement. A key work-on going forward will be winning the race to the breakdown. By arriving earlier and more aggressively, we can eliminate the contest and create quicker ball to build further momentum.

Overall, it was a strong team effort and a deserved win. The boys should be proud of their performance and will look to build on this as the season progresses.

Physio Place Sponsorship

The Lindisfarne Rugby Program is very fortunate to have Physio Place from Tweed Heads as a sponsor in 2025. Physio Place is one of the leading physiotherapy practices on the Gold Coast and is headed up by one of our Lindisfarne alumni, Dr Carly Jennar. Dr Jennar has an extensive background in contact sports and currently works with Tweed Seagulls Rugby League Cup squad, Brisbane Broncos NRLW team, QLD Women’s State of Origin team and has been to two Rugby League World Cups with both the Australian and Papua New Guinea Women’s National teams. You can find out more about the team of staff at Physio Place HERE.

As part of this sponsorship, Physio Place will provide Lindisfarne rugby players and families with discounted physiotherapy consultations ($30 reduction in charges) at Physio Place in Tweed Heads (next to Rebel Sport). They will also assist with:

  • Physiotherapy support and first aid during home games

  • Strapping at a suitable time before home and away games for players at school

  • Triage for any injured players at the school on the day after match days or tournaments;

  • Physiotherapy support for major tournaments (e.g., Ballymore Cup and QLD All Schools) at tournament locations.

If you need physiotherapy or have any injuries, please contact Physio Place on (07) 55239994, or you can also book online at their website HERE.

Monday After School (Y7-12) and Tuesday Before School (1st XV Wider Squad) Training

PLEASE NOTE THE WEDNESDAY AM SESSION IN TERM ONE HAS BEEN MOVED TO TUESDAY AM FOR TERM 2 FOR THE 1st XV WIDER TRAINING SQUAD. There will be 6 of these training sessions in term 2, and they will be held in W2 (6/5), W3 (3/5), W4 (20/5), W6 (3/6), W7 (10/6), and W8 (17/6).

In 2025, our main training sessions outside of school time are on Monday after school (1530-1645) for all Y7-12 players and Tuesday before school until the end of P1 (0700-0940) for our 1st XV wider squad. Rugby union is a team sport, and we still need as many of our players to be in attendance week in and week out to grow the Lindisfarne rugby program. If there is any way we can be of assistance to help facilitate this, please let us know.

Also, please note we will NOT be sending reminders for these training sessions (all players and families should assume our Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning training sessions will ALWAYS BE ON), however we will let you all know with as much time as possible if we need to cancel a session due to weather or other factors.

School Uniform and Training Attire

Students should be in proper training attire (NOT school sports uniform) with mouthguard, boots and any other equipment they play with for every training session. This requirement also includes integrated school sport on Thursday, i.e., students should wear our rugby training top or similar and not the school sports polo at this time. Alongside this, students should have a towel and a spare school uniform to change into in case there is wet weather.

Outside of rugby training times, students should be in the correct uniform, which includes wearing the school sports polo on Thursday in P1-2 and P5-6 and in PE lessons and not rugby training tops.

Stack Team APP

The Stack Team app will be our Rugby Union program’s main form of communication for all our squads.

As a reminder, both parents and Boys’ / Girls’ 7s students who have parental permission for smartphones will need to download the app and join the Lindisfarne Rugby Program in the app.

To download the Stack team app, use the following links:

● iOS: https://www.teamapp.com/ios-ap...

● Android: https://www.teamapp.com/androi...

Once downloaded, please search for 'Lindisfarne Rugby Program' and request to join.
