2026 Term 2 Week 4 15 May 2026
Upcoming Events
From the Principal
From the Acting Principal
From the Deputy Principal
Dear Lindisfarne Parents and Guardians,
As Term 2 progresses, this week has certainly been marked by persistent rain across the region. Thank you to all families for your patience, care, and understanding during drop-off and pick-up times, particularly during periods of heavy traffic and challenging weather conditions. The safety of our students, families, and staff remains our priority,
Despite the wet weather, there have still been many meaningful moments across the School.
We were also pleased to host this term’s Friends of the Arts (FOTA) meeting, bringing together parents, staff, and supporters who are passionate about the creative life of our school. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss upcoming performances and initiatives that continue to enrich our extensive arts program. Thank you to all members for their ongoing enthusiasm and support of the arts at Lindisfarne.
Students in Years 6 and 9 also participated in the Courage to Care workshops, an engaging and thought-provoking experience designed to encourage empathy, respect, and the importance of standing up against discrimination and bullying. Students were challenged to reflect on the impact of their choices and the value of compassion. I thank the facilitators for delivering such meaningful sessions and our students for their thoughtful participation.
This morning, we were delighted to host our annual Mother’s Day High Tea at the Mahers Lane campus. This event is always a special occasion on the Lindisfarne calendar, and this year it was wonderful to welcome our mothers and special guests into the beautiful surroundings of the newly refurbished Trade Skills Deck and Senior Centre spaces. Guests were treated to a delicious selection of freshly prepared food, beautifully created and served by our Year 11 Food Technology students. The morning was made even more memorable by performances from our talented student musicians, whose music created a warm and uplifting atmosphere throughout the event. It was lovely to see generations of guests gathered together in celebration and appreciation of the incredible role mothers and mother figures play in the lives of our students and our community. Thank you to the P&F and the many volunteers who helped make the occasion so special.

As we now look ahead to next week, many of our students in Years 7 to 11 will be preparing to head away on their various camps and outdoor education experiences. Camps are such an important part of life at Lindisfarne and provide students with opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
Our students are incredibly fortunate to experience a range of outstanding camp locations and programs, and we always enjoy hearing the many stories, highlights, and reflections they bring back upon their return. I extend my thanks to the many staff who will be leading and supporting these experiences for our children.
As families prepare for camp departures, I kindly ask parents and caregivers to take some time over the weekend to review packing lists, departure details, and drop-off arrangements to help ensure a smooth start to the week.
Wishing all families a safe, restful, and enjoyable weekend ahead.

Chaplaincy
From the Chaplain
Dear Parents and Guardians,Staff and Students
Just last week we celebrated Lindisfarne’s 45th birthday!
The celebrations began with a beautiful Eucharistic service at our founding parish of Saint Cuthbert’s at Tweed Heads on the Sunday morning.
It was a wonderful occasion where student from our Middle and Senior School Choirs blessed the rest of the congregation with their beautiful singing of some classic hymns and moving items.
One of the current locums, Reverend Crystal, shared a very special message about our historical connection with Saint Cuthbert and the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne.
Then on the Tuesday we had the Middle school and Senior School services, including the offical opening of our Senior Centre, followed by the Junior School service on the Thursday.
At these special services, Principal Marquardt reminded us of our humble beginnings, due to the faith-filled vision of the late Revered Canon Ron Dyson, who was the Rector of Saint Cuthbert’s Parish during the late 70s early 80s.
This caused the school to start in the Parish hall, before the Sunshine campus was ready, which was only possible through the loan turned gift of $50,000 from the Tweed Heads Bowls Club (Club Tweed).
The Mahers Lane campus was established in 1996, due to the generous bequeathing of a large parcel of land by the late Bill Bedser.
We were also reminded that the lands upon which both our campuses are situated are part of Bundjalung Country.
Today, we are the School of choice for the Southern Gold Coast, Tweed Coast and Northeastern NSW - from little things big things grow.
But what makes Lindisfarne such a great school?
Well, a big part of the answer is our Anglican heritage and identity built on the foundation of Scripture, Tradition and Reason.
It is also due to our school’s values of Compassion, Wisdom and Respect and our cultural drivers of Leadership, Standards and Collaboration.
I say to prospective parents of future students at our Principal’s Tours that what attracted me to Lindisfarne, not only to join the Chaplaincy team, but to enrol my two boy here, was its holistic education of head, heart, hands, that is, ‘to know,’ ‘to feel’ and ‘to do.’ Or to couch it in Ancient Greek philosophical language, logos, pathos and ethos, so as to nourish the whole person of ‘mind’, ‘body’ and ‘spirit.’
As an Anglican Grammar School, our Anglican identity is important to us, but this doesn’t mean we exclude anyone - all are welcome, whether they be Anglican, or of another denomination, or religion, or none at all.
As Anglicans, we don’t make the mistake of throwing the baby out with the bath water- we retain what is good and reform the rest.
In this way, we are both catholic and reformed. We are the via media- the middle way.
We live out our faith through thought, word and deed, but always by invitation, not, cohesion.
The success of the school is also in a great part, due to Principal Marquardt’s tremendous leadership over the past 10+ years and, indeed, to all our committed staff members from the Executive to the Grounds’ Workers.
It is also due to the commitment of our students’ parents and caregivers, who give sacrificially, for their children’s education, so that, in time, they may grow and flourish into well adjusted, mature, and significant contributors to our local community and the world at large.
So, thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful school and happy 45th birthday Lindisfarne!
Blessings,
Reverend Lyndon
School Chaplain

Global Recognition - Lindisfarne’s Apple ‘Story’
This term has marked another significant milestone in Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School’s ongoing commitment to innovation, teaching excellence and purposeful use of technology in education.
Earlier this month, Lindisfarne was featured globally in a custom campaign developed by Apple. The Apple ‘Story’ approach seeks to highlight organisations, sometimes schools, who are leading and integrating technology in meaningful and impactful ways. The profile showcases the School’s approach to learning, wellbeing, creativity, and technology integration across multiple year levels and learning environments.
The recognition places Lindisfarne amongst a select group of schools internationally identified by Apple for excellence in educational practice. The story reflects not only the strength of the School’s ConnectEd program and digital learning environment, but more importantly the expertise, care and professionalism of our staff and students who bring learning to life each day.
The feature captures a philosophy that has long underpinned learning at Lindisfarne: technology should enhance relationships, creativity, opportunity and learning, rather than simply exist for its own sake. Across classrooms, cocurricular programs, wellbeing initiatives, and partnerships, students are encouraged to engage thoughtfully and responsibly with technology while developing the skills required for an increasingly complex world.
Coinciding with the US release of the Apple profile, Lindisfarne was also invited to present at the Independent Schools NSW EngagEd ICT Conference on the Gold Coast, doubling as the Australian launch of the film. The presentation shared Lindisfarne’s unique approach to educational technology, innovation, artificial intelligence and professional learning with educators and school leaders from across Australia.
These opportunities continue to reinforce Lindisfarne’s growing reputation as a leader in contemporary education, both nationally and internationally. They also reflect the collective efforts of staff across all areas of the School, whose work continues to shape exceptional experiences and opportunities for students every day.

Lindisfarne Buses
The Lindisfarne buses provide a service for students registered to travel to and from the closest bus stop to the residential address of the family. The Lindisfarne Bus service does not have the capacity to meet requests such as transport for students to swap buses for travel to other locations for sport, work, social or other reasons.
Should your child need to attend such an activity we advise you to make alternative arrangements like carpooling to transport your child to their event.
We write to provide a reminder regarding the scheduled departure times for our School provided bus service. To ensure all students arrive at School safely and on time each morning, it is essential that the buses depart promptly at their designated intervals.
The full schedule including all routes and times can be viewed here on our website. We ask that you please review your route and stop time, and that students arrive at the bus zone prior to the departure times listed.
If you use the Route A intercampus bus, please note that the last morning departure for this service is 8.20am. Students must be at the Chapel to meet the supervising staff member by 8.15am at the latest to allow time for roll taking and boarding.
Please note that for the safety of our students and to maintain our route schedules, drivers are unable to wait for late arrivals.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a reliable and efficient service for all families.
Also note, that with daylight savings coming to an end over Easter long weekend, Queensland residents will need to ensure they follow the scheduled departure times for Term 2.
Your understanding of these matters is appreciated.

Gala Day
On Monday, the Esports team had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Fuse Cup Esports Border school Gala day at Hillcrest Christian College. When we arrived at Hillcrest we were escorted to the auditorium where all the equipment and consoles were set up. After getting settled in we were introduced to the rules of how, what, and when we would be playing. We teamed up in a group of four which consisted of 2 people from our school and 2 from a different school. These mixed teams helped us collaborate and communicate with different people with similar interests to us. After the first wave of heats we definitely knew we had a strong team. The event was fun and it was great to meet other people from different schools which helped push a lot of people out of their comfort zones and out of their comfort groups to engage with new people. The sportsmanship was great and it was good to see everyone have so much fun competing while also remaining respectful and courteous to one another. After a long day of socializing, gaming, and laughter our team pulled through and managed to win the competition. It took a lot of teamwork, and hard effort but it eventually paid off. After the medal ceremony we said our farewells to all the amazing people we met and left Hilcrest to come back to Lindisfarne. Overall it was an amazing experience that none of us will forget.
Later in the week, school representative groups travelled to Lindisfarne to compete. It was a vibrant couple of days of healthy competition. We are looking forward to more Fuse Cup in years to come! Thanks to everyone who participated.

There Is Always Love - Tour to Canada
As part of our music project, There Is Always Love, we had the incredible opportunity to travel to Lakefield College School in Canada to collaborate and connect with students. This project allowed us to build on our confidence, creativity, and authenticity. Throughout our journey, we were able to capture moments of connection, kindness, and shared experience, discovering love in the people we met and the environments we were part of. At the heart of the project is the idea that there is always love wherever you go, and our time in Canada allowed us to explore this message in a real and meaningful way. Through exposing ourselves to new environments, we developed a deeper understanding of love and how abundant it is when we choose to notice and appreciate it.

Walk Safely to School Day
‘Walk Safely to School Day’ is coming up next Friday, 22 May (Week 5), and we warmly invite all Junior School students and families to join us in supporting this wonderful Federal Government initiative. ‘Walk Safely to School Day’ encourages healthy habits, road safety awareness, physical activity, and reduced traffic congestion around schools, while also providing a great opportunity for families and students to connect with others in our community.
Families are encouraged to join one of our 2 regular Walking Bus groups, which travel the very short route to school (roughly 300m) every day. Our Walking Buses are supervised from 8:00am by Junior School staff and depart daily on foot from outside the Tweed United Football Club (behind Arkinstall Park Tennis Courts). The Walking Bus departure times are:
- 8:15am
- 8:30am
These 2 daily morning Walking Buses will continue to be in operation for our ‘Walk Safely to School Day’ event on Friday, 22nd May (Week 5), and we invite and encourage you to join us!
We also operate a Walking Bus every afternoon from the back gate, leaving at roughly 3:07pm. Why not also utilise this afternoon service? As afternoons are significantly busier in terms of pick-ups the daily afternoon Walking Bus could mean reduced road congestion, reduced traffic-induced frustration and a smoother and more efficient end to the day for families. If you would like your child/ren to join an afternoon Walking Bus, please indicate via the end of day arrangements on Parent Lounge.
Even if your family does not usually utilise the daily Walking Bus, we would love to see as many students and families involved as possible for this special event. If you haven’t thought about using the Walking Bus before, why not use this event as a way to begin a new drop-off or pick-up routine? You never know – it may make your mornings and afternoons even easier!
I look forward to walking together with you and promoting safe, active travel to school.

Mother’s Day Tea Party
This week the Preschool children enjoyed a very special morning celebrating the wonderful mums and mother figures in their lives at our annual Mother’s Day Tea Party.

The children were so excited to welcome their mums into their learning environment and proudly share in the morning’s activities.
A range of relaxing and creative experiences were enjoyed, including massages, manicures, and mindful colouring activities. Many precious moments were shared as the children delighted in caring for and spending time with their mums.

Families also enjoyed a beautiful morning tea together on the deck, creating a calm and joyful atmosphere filled with appreciation and connection.
Mother’s Day celebrations such as these provide meaningful opportunities for children to express love, gratitude, and belonging, while strengthening the important partnerships between home and Preschool.
We thank all of our wonderful families who joined us for this special celebration and helped make the morning so memorable.

Senior School
From the Head of Senior School
As we approach next week’s camp program, I have been reflecting on the opportunities our students are afforded through their involvement in the Senior School co-curricular program. Camps provide experiences that extend far beyond the classroom, allowing students to develop resilience, independence, teamwork, leadership and lasting friendships. They challenge students to step outside their comfort zones, strengthen connections with peers and staff, and create memories that will last for many years.
At the heart of these experiences is the belief that “Through challenge comes growth”. Whether students are navigating new environments, participating in outdoor activities, working collaboratively with others or simply learning to be more independent, camps provide invaluable opportunities for personal development and growth.
Programs such as these do not happen without an enormous amount of planning, preparation and commitment from staff. I would like to sincerely thank all of the staff members who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the various camp experiences for our students. Their attention to detail, care and dedication ensure that students are provided with safe, engaging and meaningful opportunities.
I would also like to acknowledge the many staff who will give up time away from their families to support our students throughout the camps. Their willingness to invest their time and energy in the lives of our young people is deeply appreciated and a wonderful reflection of the commitment and care within the Senior School.
As in previous years, parents will receive a TripCast link via email for each camp. These links will provide families with the opportunity to follow along with updates and photos throughout the week and to share in the experiences and adventures of our students while they are away.
We look forward to a highly rewarding and memorable experience for all involved.

Annual Red Shield Appeal - Tweed Chamber of Commerce Breakfast
On Tuesday 12 May, student leaders Ben Reeve, Tessa Ford, Teagan Gilmour and Sam Davies had the privilege of attending the Red Shield Appeal Breakfast at Club Tweed alongside Reverend Constantine Osuchukwu, Reverend Lyndon Mulholland and Mrs Lauren Ward. Hosted by the Tweed Chamber of Commerce, the event featured inspiring presentations from representatives of the Salvation Army, who shared powerful stories about their work supporting vulnerable members of the local community.
Students heard from Salvation Army Majors Nicole and John Viles, whose dedication to fundraising and community outreach was inspiring. Nicole spoke about her work providing breakfast each morning to more than 140 students across two local schools, ensuring many young people begin the day with a meal and the support they need to learn and thrive. The students left feeling grateful for the opportunities they have and with renewed motivation to use their gifts for the good of others.

Year 10 Geography Fieldwork
This week and last, our Year 10 Geography students embarked on an exciting field trip to Casuarina and the border beaches as part of their studies on coastal processes and management strategies. The excursion provided a hands-on opportunity for students to observe and assess the real-world challenges faced by coastal communities in protecting their shorelines from erosion and the impacts of rising sea levels.
During the visit, students explored a range of coastal defences, including sea walls, sand dunes, and revegetation projects, all designed to protect valuable land and infrastructure. Working in small groups, they conducted field observations and recorded data on the condition and effectiveness of these management strategies. Students also discussed the environmental, economic, and social implications of each approach, considering both short-term protection and long-term sustainability.
Back in the classroom, students have begun to analyse their findings and evaluate the effectiveness of current coastal management practices. They engaged in lively debates about the most appropriate and sustainable solutions for the future, drawing on their firsthand observations and research. Many students proposed sustainable ideas for future management, such as the use of native vegetation to stabilise dunes, and the importance of community involvement in maintaining coastal defences.
This field trip not only deepened students’ understanding of coastal processes but also encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences, our Stage 5 Geographers are now better equipped to contribute to discussions about the sustainable management of our precious coastal environments.
Thanks are extended to all the Humanities staff who helped to support the smooth running of the fieldtrip days.

Navigate to Term 3 (Year Group) Integrated Sports 2026
You can also use the following instructions to login to Clipboard HERE.
Term 3 integrated sports options are linked below and are available to view on Clipboard.
Our integrated sports program is the compulsory sport that will be timetabled into students' academic calendar for Years 5 to 10, with Years 11 and 12 optional. This sports program is part of the NSW Education and Standards Authority (NESA) and as such, contributes to the minimum hours of Physical Activity within the school-mandated curriculum.
We encourage students to carefully select their sports and, where applicable, to network with their friends in advance of selection openings (including having contingency plans if selections fill up). Please note that there are no sport swaps after the selection process - swapping students across rolls and unravelling finance is not a straightforward process.
AFLQ Youth High School (Year 9&10)
An excellent day for Lindisfarne AFL. Both the boys and girls Year 9 and 10 teams performed admirably, winning their divisions and moving on to the next round. Sienna Lobascher, Yr 10 and Jax Di Mieri Yr 10, both received the Most Valuable Player Award for their competitions.
As is the case with the Year 7 and 8 boys team, the Yr 9 and 10 Girls and Boys team will progress through to the next round of matches to be played in Week 1 of Term 3. A full training schedule will be shared with the students beginning after camp week.
AFLQ Senior High School (Year 11&12)
A wet and heavy track greeted both teams for the senior division of the AFLQ schools cup. Both the Senior Boys and Girls teams played some outstanding footy in very trying conditions, progressing through to the grand finals. Unfortunately both the boys and girls went down by less than a goal. The girls and boys team represented the school with pride and we should be extremely proud of their efforts.
Border Schools Gala Day
Skateboarding
What happens when you mix passionate students, expert coaches, and a shared love for four wheels and a deck? You get absolute magic.
Last week, our community came alive for the Border School Skateboarding Gala Day. Students from Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, St. Andrews, and Hillcrest left their school rivalries at the gate and stepped onto the concrete as one unified crew.
The day was all about connection, progression, and culture. Rather than a cutthroat competition, the gala focused on a collaborative jam session where skaters of all skill levels could share the park, swap tips, and push each other to new heights.
Highlights from the Deck:
Coaching Clinics: Local pro coaches from Rock ‘n Slide Skateboarding were on hand to break down everything from the fundamentals of a perfect ollie to the fine art of dropping into the bowl.
Peer-to-Peer Mentorship: The real magic happened between the sessions. Experienced student skaters were seen cheering on beginners, patiently teaching them how to foot-brake, kickturn, and conquer their fear of the ramps.
More Than Just Sport
Skateboarding has always been about community, resilience, and self-expression. Seeing students from different schools high-fiving after a landed trick or helping each other up after a spill reminded us exactly why these events matter.
A massive thank you to all the coaches who shared their expertise, the teachers who organised the day, and, most importantly, the students who brought the energy, respect, and stoke.

AFL
A big day of footy at Carrara on Monday 11 May. Lindisfarne had teams in all 4 divisions, Year 7 and 8 boys and girls and Years 9and 10 boys and girls. The 7 and 8 girls battled hard all day against some very good opposition falling just short in all of their matches, The 7 and 8 boys team again proved the team to beat winning all their matches across the day.
In the 9 and 10 boys divisions there were some evenly fought games across the day. Lindisfarne 9 and 10 boys managed to hold on and record wins in all of their games. The 9 and 10 girls unfortunately, suffered some injuries and were left with low numbers which meant they were no match for the other teams. Undoubtedly, Friday's AFLQ carnival victory took its toll on the girls who managed to put up a strong effort in their matches.
Esport
On Monday, 11 May, the Lindisfarne Esports team had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Fuse Cup Esports Boarder School Gala Day at Hillcrest Christian College.
When we arrived at Hillcrest, we were escorted to the auditorium, where all the equipment and consoles were set up. After getting settled in, we were introduced to the rules of how, what, and when we would be playing.
We teamed up in groups of four, which consisted of two students from our school and two students from a different school. These mixed teams helped us collaborate and communicate with people who shared similar interests. After the first wave of heats, we definitely knew we had a strong team.
The event was fun and it was great to meet people from different schools. This pushed many of us out of our comfort zones and social circles to engage with new people.
The sportsmanship was great; it was good to see everyone have so much fun competing while remaining respectful and courteous to one another.
After a long day of socialising, gaming, and laughter, our team pulled through and managed to win the competition. It took a lot of teamwork and hard work, but it eventually paid off. After the medal ceremony, we said our farewells to all the amazing people we met and left Hillcrest to return to Lindisfarne. Overall, it was an amazing experience that none of us will forget. Kai Friend & Xavier Chittick were the winning duo from Lindisfarne, with runners-up Jardian Halliday and Slayd Driessens. Bruce Boyall was awarded the MVP for a student whose maturity and sportsmanship shone throughout the event.

Football Bill Turner Cup & Trophy Double Header
Both our girls and boys teams made their way through to Round 3 of the Bill Turner, in very different circumstances.
Our girls won 8 nil, with a 6-goal haul by captain Charli Wiegand. The girls should be able to play deep into this competition, so they are just getting started.
Our boys won in a penalty shootout, after enduring an exhilarating golden point extra time - player drop off scenario. The boys have a VERY young U15S team, wait until a couple of years time to see this team shake up the competition.
NCIS Secondary Football
Both our Open Boys and Girls teams went down to Coffs Harbour for a sensational day of Football yesterday. Both teams went through undefeated, so gold medals all round.

RECENT GAMES
1st XV v AB Paterson 26-0
Our 1st XV produced a dominant second-half performance to defeat AB Paterson 26-0 on the Lindisfarne Top Oval, overcoming a scrappy first half before finishing strongly to secure an impressive home victory.
Although we held a narrow 7-0 lead at halftime, the opening half was far from our best performance. Handling errors, missed opportunities, and a lack of line speed on defence prevented our 1st XV from building momentum, while AB Paterson remained competitive through determined defence and strong effort around the breakdown to retain possession. Our 1st XV struggled to settle into rhythm and were too passive on defence for long periods, but an important first-half try ensured we carried a small advantage into the break.
The turning point of the match came early in the second half. AB Paterson started with energy and threatened to close the gap, but our defence stood firm. Repeated defensive sets inside their own half helped our 1st XV regain confidence, with several strong tackles and disciplined defensive work denying AB Paterson any scoring opportunities.
Once Lindisfarne absorbed that pressure, we gradually began to dominate territory and possession. Improved discipline and better field position allowed the team to build attacking phases, and from there the points began to flow. The forwards laid a strong platform through physical carries and set-piece control, while the backs capitalised on space out wide.
Player of the Day honours went to Max Esgate, who made his first start for the 1st XV and made an impact around the field with a great kicking game and some strong carries on attack. Luke Jones and Menzie Tucker both impressed with powerful running that consistently gained valuable metres and put AB Paterson on the back foot. Menzie in particular, delivered one of his strongest performances of the season, combining tough defence with damaging runs through the middle of the field. Alongside Luke & Menzie, Albert Stainlay-Werrin and Guy Henry were outstanding in defence and highly effective in the lineouts, helping Lindisfarne maintain possession and control throughout the second half.
By fulltime, our 1st XV had transformed a tight and frustrating contest into a convincing 26-0 victory. Their defensive resilience early in the second half laid the foundation for a dominant finish, highlighting the side’s ability to respond under pressure and finish strongly in front of their home crowd.

2026 Training Schedule and Notes
Please take note of the 2026 training schedule below. Rugby union is a team sport and we need as many of our players to be in attendance week in and week out to grow the Lindisfarne rugby program. Please note we will NOT be sending reminders for these training sessions (all players and families should assume training will ALWAYS BE ON), however we will let you all know with as much time as possible if we need to cancel a session due to weather or other factors.
Students should be in proper training attire (NOT school sports uniform) with mouthguard, boots and any other equipment they play with for every training session. This requirement also includes integrated school sport on Thursday i.e., students should wear our rugby training top or similar training top and not the school sport polo at this time. Alongside this, students should have a towel and spare school uniform to change into in case there is wet weather.
Outside of rugby training times, students should be in the correct uniform, which includes wearing the school sport polo on Thursday in P1-2 and P5-6 and in PE lessons and not rugby training tops.

Chess Club News
This week, Stage 3 students sharpened their strategic thinking skills at the Gold Coast Hinterland Primary Interschool Chess Tournament held at Clover Hill State School. Competing against students from across the region, our players demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, concentration and resilience — with plenty of clever moves and a few dramatic “checkmate” moments along the way! Congratulations to the three students who were awarded Merit Certificates for their strong performances, and to one student who achieved the outstanding result of earning a medal. We are incredibly proud of all students who participated and look forward to returning next term for more strategic battles across the chessboard.

Flying High: Connecting Business & Opportunity
The recent Lindisfarne Business Network Breakfast brought together Lindisfarne partners, supporters, local business owners, and students for an engaging morning of connection and insight. Guest speaker Amelia Evans, CEO of Queensland Airports shared an inspiring overview of the future plans for the Gold Coast Airport and the significant opportunities this growth will create across the Northern Rivers to Gold Coast catchment.
Amelia highlighted how ongoing airport development and increased connectivity will support tourism, investment, employment, and broader business growth throughout the region. She also spoke directly to the students in attendance, offering valuable advice on career pathways and outlining the wide range of vocations available within the aviation and airport industries.

A delicious breakfast was expertly prepared and served by our talented Hospitality students, whose professionalism and attention to detail were on full display throughout the morning. Guests enjoyed a warm and welcoming dining experience while students gained valuable hands-on industry experience, showcasing the exceptional skills, confidence, and service standards being developed through Lindisfarne’s Hospitality program.

Billy Moore Profile

Billy Moore is a former elite rugby league player who represented Queensland and Australia during the 1980s and 1990s, earning a reputation for toughness, leadership, and passion for the jersey. Raised in Wallangarra, Queensland, Moore was born across the border in Tenterfield, New South Wales, a fact he jokes about often, though his Queensland identity has never been questioned.
After representing New South Wales at Under-17 level, Moore joined the North Sydney Bears in 1989 and became a key figure in the club’s rise to finals contention in 1991. He made his State of Origin debut for Queensland in 1992, scoring the only try in the Maroons’ famous 5–4 Game II victory.
Moore is best remembered for his iconic “Queenslander!” cry during the 1995 State of Origin series, a moment that has become part of Australian sporting folklore. Today, he shares lessons from his career through engaging talks on leadership, resilience, teamwork, and performing under pressure.
